Slinger / Signaller Banksman assessment Aim

To assess slinger / signaller banksman course participants on their knowledge, skills and attitude to enable them to give the correct hand signals to the crane driver. To give the candidate the knowledge to choose the correct lifting equipment and to sling the load properly and safely.

  • Banksman Introduction
  • Construction Site Safety Awareness
  • Health and Safety Legislation
  • Checking slings, chains and straps
  • Choose the correct lifting equipment
  • Inspection of Block Grabs
  • Hand signals

Duration: 1 Day

Times: 8.30 am – 4.30 pm

Assessment: Theory and Practical Examination

Certification: On successful completion candidates will be awarded a FETAC Certificate and a CSCS Card

Slinger / Signaller Training Course requirements: Completed New Entrants Log Book (Minimum 6 months experience) or meet criteria in the candidate pack, One Passport Photographs, Safe pass course completed, PPS Number, PPE (personal protective equipment), i.e. Hard Hat, High Vis Vest, Steel Toe Capped Boots, Gloves
