Course Content

The training modules incorporated within the one-day Safe Pass Programme are:

  • Promoting a Safety Culture
  • Duties and Responsibilities at Work
  • Accident Reporting and Prevention
  • Working at Heights
  • Excavations and Confined Spaces
  • Working with Electricity Underground and Overhead Services
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Use of Hand Held Equipment, Tools and Machinery
  • Safe Use of Vehicles
  • Noise and Vibration
  • Manual Handling
  • Health and Hygiene

Under SI 291 of the 2013 Safety Health and Welfare Construction Regulation, Section 25, Schedule 4: Safe pass training courses are renewable every 4 years

Duration: 1 Day

Training Times and Dates: 8.00 am – 5.15 pm –  every Saturday in the Boyne Valley Hotel, Drogheda, Co. Louth, also mid week in our training centre at Harbourville house Marsh Rd Drogheda Co Meath

Assessment: 20 question, tick box Examination.

Certification: On successful completion the candidates will be awarded a SOLAS Safe Pass card.

Safe Pass Course requirements: One Passport Photograph, Over 16 years of age, PPS Number and form of ID. Note late arrivals will not be allowed to sit safe pass and will also be liable for the cost, refunds are not issued for no shows or late arrivals. If a person does not have their PPS number or 1 x current passport size photo on the day of the course then their applications will not be processed. Noel Kelly will not be responsible for cards lost or missing in the post. If your name. pps number or DOB do not match up on the Solas database then a card cannot be issued until the matter is rectified, it is the responsibility of all attending the course to provide the correct details required on the Solas Safe Pass application form.
