Safe Pass

Solas have made the wearing of masks for all safe pass participants mandatory form 10th August 2020 until further notice, Tutors can wear face shields.

We have installed Covid 19 rules and procedures, these will be explainbed at the begining of the course. Anyone not complying with the Covid 19 protocols during the safe pass course will be asked to leave the course. See our Covid section on www.kellysafetyservices.ie.

A Covid 19 Self declaration form which can be downloaded from our web home page, must be completed and returned 3 days prior to the course, fairure to do so will mean you cannot sit the course on your scheduled date and there are no refunds.

Cost is €130.00 which includes light refreshments. Payment is to be paid by card prior to the course to secure the place – call 086 3743166 or 0419842668 – all major credit cards accepted.
Requirements- the return to work protocol for courses form below to be completed, a form of ID is required, 1 x current passport size photo and a PPS number. Candidates must be 16 years of age and over. This course is delivered in English, for translated courses contact SOLAS Safe Pass Section. Note PPS number is required on the day of the course, the application will not be processed without the PPS and 1 x current passport sized photograph.
Note: all candidates must have a PPS number and proof of ID, This is a SOLAS requirement.
Call Noel on 0863743166 to secure your place. Two days prior to the course Noel will contact you to confirm that you can attend, if no contact is made by phone or text the place will be given to another candidate 10 persons Covid 19 is the maximum amount allowed on any one course. If the person booking the course does not confirm their place their name will be removed from the list.
Note Tutor has the right to cancel the course at short notice either to lack of numbers or the room or candidates do not conform with the requirements above. Refunds are not made to persons that do not turn up for booked course, the person will have to make up the difference of €95.00 if they wish to do a future course with Noel Kelly Safety – other terms apply.

Note: as of 6 July 2020, we can provide a passport sized photograph, but only if a persson forgets theirs on the day, the cost will be €8.00 per photograph

Fire Warden

Noel Kelly has a MSc and is qualified to deliver all aspects of the Fire Warden and all aspects of fire safety awareness and use of fire extinguishers course.

Noel Kelly has a MSc in Environmental Health and Safety and is qualified to provide you with the requirements for all your Fire Safety needs.

Section 11(1)(c) of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 states that the employer is required to:

‘designate employees to implement the plans, procedures and measures concerning fire and emergency. These designated employees are commonly called fire wardens or fire officers’

There is a legal requirement on employers to prepare an Emergency Plan that outlines how the workplace will be evacuated in the event of a fire outbreak. Fire Wardens are designated the responsibility of executing this plan in an emergency situation. This one-day course aims to inform Fire Wardens of their responsibilities in running a fire drill effectively and safety. It also details the steps involved in developing an Emergency Plan for the workplace, in the event that one does not currently exist.

Who should attend?
Anyone who has been nominated or volunteered as a Fire Warden within their workplace.

Course Objectives

On completion of this programme participants will be able to:

  • List their duties as fire wardens
  • Identify fire hazards in the workplace
  • Use portable fire extinguishers effectively
  • Manage and control evacuations
  • Describe the chemistry of fire
  • Monitor fire controls
  • Assist in the management of evacuation procedures/drills.

  • Spread of fire
  • Smoke behaviour
  • Classification of fires
  • Basic fire prevention
  • Evacuation procedures
  • How to make evacuation realistic

Pre-Course Requirements for In Company Training: A practical demonstration of fire extinguishers can be incorporated into this course by prior arrangement with Noel Kelly.

Fire extinguishers can either be supplied by your company or hired through Noel Kelly at an extra fee. Please note that the use of fire extinguishers during this training requires a wide-open space where a practical demonstration can take place safely.

Duration: 1 Day

Training Times: 9.00 am – 4.15 pm

Assessment: Pratical

Certification: On successful completion the candidates will be awarded a certificate of attendance.

Course requirements: High vis vest, safety glasses and gloves.
